About a average
Fill in the four fields above to see what GPA you need next semester.
How is this calculated?

The required semester GPA is the average GPA you'd need across all upcoming credit hours so that your weighted cumulative GPA reaches your target:

required = (target × (earned + upcoming) − current × earned) / upcoming

Example: with a 3.20 CGPA over 60 credits, taking 15 credits next semester, to reach a 3.40 target you'd need a 4.20 semester GPA — not reachable on a 4.00 scale, so you'd plan for more semesters or a higher credit load.

Frequently asked questions

How is the required GPA calculated?
The calculator uses this formula: required = (target × (earned + upcoming) − current × earned) ÷ upcoming. That gives the average grade-point value you'd need across all upcoming credit hours so your weighted cumulative GPA reaches the target.
What if my required GPA is higher than Prince Sultan University (PSU)'s maximum of 5.00?
If the required value exceeds 5.00, your target isn't reachable in a single semester — even straight A+'s would fall short. The calculator shows the maximum CGPA you could realistically reach, so you can plan across more semesters or take a heavier credit load.
Does taking more upcoming credits make it easier to raise my GPA?
Yes — more upcoming credits give the new semester greater weight against your prior cumulative average, so each strong grade pulls your CGPA up faster. Try increasing the 'Upcoming Semester Credits' field to see the required average drop.
Is this Prince Sultan University (PSU) target GPA calculator accurate?
The calculator follows Prince Sultan University (PSU)'s official Prince Sultan University Grading System on a 1.0–5.0 scale, and the arithmetic is exact. Note that some programs apply additional rules (course retakes, honours thresholds, repeat policies) that go beyond the standard CGPA formula.
Is this calculator free? Do I need to sign up?
Yes — GPAWise is completely free. There's no signup, no paywall, and your inputs stay in your browser.
What's the difference between this and the regular GPA calculator?
The regular Prince Sultan University (PSU) GPA calculator computes the GPA you've already earned from your courses. This target calculator works backwards: given your current CGPA and a goal, it tells you the average semester GPA you'd need to reach that goal.
