Beyond the letter-grade point scale, the catalog defines several notations that carry no grade-point value and are not counted in the GPA:

• W (Official Withdrawal) — a student may withdraw from a course through the tenth week of the semester; W grades do not affect the student's GPA.
• I (Incomplete Work) — a temporary grade for work or a final exam not completed due to illness or other circumstances beyond the student's control; automatically becomes an F if not resolved with the instructor during the following semester.
• S (Audit, No Credit) — the auditor receives neither a grade nor credit.
• M (Military reason), IE (Incomplete Writing Competency Examination), P (Successful Completion of Course), and R (Unsuccessful Completion of Course — Re-Take) carry no printed grade-point value.

Repeated courses: a grade of D, D+, or F may be repeated, and only the most recent grade counts toward the GPA (both grades remain on the transcript). A grade of B or C may be repeated only with Academic Deans' approval, and only the first grade counts toward the GPA. Repeat credits do not count twice toward program or graduation requirements, and a course may be repeated only once.

Academic standing is determined by cumulative GPA and total credits attempted:

A student below the Satisfactory Progress floor for their credit bracket is placed on academic probation (part-time students are checked after each 12 credits attempted). On first probation, the credit load is capped at 12 hours the following semester; if Satisfactory Progress still isn't met, the cap drops to 9 hours. Probationary students must meet monthly with an advisor and lose eligibility for extracurricular activities once reduced to the 9-credit limit.

While on probation, a student must maintain a 2.0 semester average each subsequent major semester or be suspended for the next major semester; after readmission the 2.0 semester-average requirement continues, and failing it again results in academic dismissal. Dismissal carries a two-year re-admission bar. At readmission after dismissal, all F grades are deleted from GPA calculations.

To qualify for a degree, certificate, or diploma, a student must attain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and satisfy all requirements of their program of study.

Semester honors (President's/Dean's/Honor's List) are awarded at the end of Fall and Spring semesters by GPA, recognized per 12-credit segment completed (up to a maximum of 120 credits):

• President's List — 4.0 GPA
• Dean's List — 3.50 to 3.99 GPA
• Honor's List — 3.25 to 3.49 GPA

Eligibility requires completing 75% of attempted credits with a grade of C or higher; a W or S grade does not disqualify a student, and a student earning an Incomplete is recognized upon its successful completion.

Graduation honors (Latin honors) require a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above at completion of all degree/certificate/diploma requirements: 4.00 is Summa Cum Laude, 3.75–3.99 is Magna Cum Laude, and 3.50–3.74 is Cum Laude. If no graduating student has a 4.00 cumulative GPA, the student with the highest cumulative GPA above 3.75 receives the Summa Cum Laude distinction instead. Students who have not completed all graduation requirements are not eligible for honors distinction.

A student attending summer school at another college or university must secure advance permission from the Academic Affairs Office, and the proposed courses must correspond to those offered at the College. A grade of C or above must be achieved for such a course to be accepted for advanced credit.
