If you repeat a course, MCCC uses the best grade you earned at the College to calculate your GPA — but every attempt still appears on your transcript. At the midterm point of each semester, instructors enter a progress indicator: S if you're making satisfactory academic progress (generally an A, B, or C) or U if you're not (generally a D or F). A midterm grade of U triggers a Starfish Alert so your academic advisor or counselor can reach out.
If you stop attending a course without officially withdrawing, your instructor assigns a final grade of FS ("F stopped attending"). If you never attend at all, you're marked NS (No Show) and administratively deregistered — treated the same as a regular drop for GPA and course-attempt purposes.
