How grading works at Embry-Riddle (ERAU)
Embry-Riddle uses one uniform grading system across all of its campuses -- Daytona Beach, Prescott, and Worldwide & Online. The undergraduate scale runs from A to F: A (Superior) = 4 grade points, B (Above Average) = 3, C (Average) = 2, D (Below Average) = 1, and F (Failure) = 0 grade points per credit hour. There is no A+ grade or any plus/minus variant anywhere in ERAU's catalog.
Two additional grades also carry 0 grade points and count toward GPA: FX (failure due to course non-attendance -- shown as an "F" on the official transcript) and WF (Withdrawal from the University Failing). A separate Graduate Grading System applies to graduate coursework (A=4, B=3, C=2, F/FX/WF=0, with no D grade).

How your GPA and CGPA are calculated at ERAU
Your term GPA and cumulative GPA (CGPA) are found by dividing the number of grade points you earned by the number of credit hours you attempted. Only courses graded A, B, C, D, F, FX, or WF count toward this calculation -- grades like W (withdrawal), I (incomplete), P (pass), S/U (satisfactory/unsatisfactory), and transfer credit (T) are never included.
One campus-specific rule: at Daytona Beach and Prescott, a WF grade counts toward your GPA denominator; at Worldwide & Online, WF is left out of the calculation entirely (only A, B, C, D, F, and FX are accrued). This only affects whether a WF grade is counted at all for Worldwide students -- the point value of every grade is identical everywhere.

Academic standing at ERAU
You're in good academic standing at ERAU if your cumulative GPA (CGPA) is 2.00 or higher. Falling below that triggers escalating stages: Academic Warning (CGPA below 2.00 for one term, or at Worldwide, cumulative/term GPA below 2.00), followed by Academic Probation (CGPA below 2.00 for two consecutive terms at Daytona Beach/Prescott, or a single-term GPA below 1.00), and ultimately Academic Suspension if your term GPA stays below 2.00 while on probation.
Students readmitted after suspension remain on probationary status until their CGPA is raised back to 2.00. At Worldwide & Online, warning and probation each run for up to two consecutive terms before escalating to suspension.

What you need to graduate from ERAU
Undergraduate degree candidates must earn a minimum cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 2.00 for all coursework completed at the University. Bachelor's degree candidates must complete their last 30 credit hours in residence at ERAU (last 15 hours for an associate's degree), including a minimum of 40 upper-division (300/400-level) credit hours, and at least 25% of total credit hours must be earned through ERAU instruction.
Some Daytona Beach and Prescott engineering degrees (e.g. Aerospace, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Software Engineering) additionally require a minimum 2.00 CGPA within their required core courses.

Dean's List, Honor Roll, and graduation honors at ERAU
Each term, full-time undergraduates with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00, no D or F grades that term, and no incomplete coursework qualify for: Dean's List (term GPA 3.50-4.00) or Honor Roll (term GPA 3.20-3.49).
At graduation, bachelor's degree recipients who completed at least 45 credit hours in residence at ERAU earn Latin honors based on their cumulative GPA, with no rounding applied: Summa Cum Laude (CGPA 3.900+), Magna Cum Laude (CGPA 3.700 to below 3.900), and Cum Laude (CGPA 3.500 to below 3.700).

Transfer credit at ERAU
Transfer credit is evaluated course-by-course from institutions recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), for coursework graded A, B, C, Pass, or Satisfactory (or equivalent). Transfer credit is never included in your ERAU GPA or CGPA calculation -- it appears on your transcript but carries no grade points.
Credit limits after matriculation: Daytona Beach and Prescott students may take no more than 12 semester hours elsewhere; Worldwide students, up to 18 semester hours. ERAU also awards advanced-standing credit for qualifying CLEP, DSST/DANTES, and Excelsior College exam scores, and for certain FAA licenses.
