University of Chittagong (CU) GPA Calculator

The University of Chittagong grades courses on a 10-point letter scale from A+ to F, following the UGC Bangladesh Uniform Grading System. There is no letter grade between D and F — a mark below 40% is graded F directly. Results not completed by the required deadline are recorded as "Incomplete" and carry no grade point until resolved.

Sessional and viva-voce marks are excluded from a year's GPA, but all four years' sessional and viva-voce marks are added into total Points Secured when the final CGPA is calculated. No credit is granted for any course graded below D, and CGPA counts only the prescribed-credit courses — no marks from any other source are included.

Promotion to the next year requires a minimum GPA of 1.75 (sessional and viva-voce excluded) in that year's examination. A student who falls short may retake the year's examination once, together with the immediately following batch, to improve their GPA before being dropped from the programme.

To earn the B.Sc. (Honours) degree, a student needs a minimum CGPA of 2.25 overall, with at least GPA 1.75 in each of the four year-wise examinations, plus a minimum GPA of 2.00 in both consolidated sessional and consolidated viva-voce. A student who reaches CGPA 2.00 but stays below 2.25, while still meeting the other floors, is instead awarded a B.Sc. Pass Degree without class and is not eligible for admission to a Master's programme.

A student who earns a CGPA of 4.00 is awarded the B.Sc. (Honours) degree with Distinction, noted on the academic transcript.
