Passaic County Community College (PCCC) GPA Calculator

GPA is computed by multiplying each course's quality points by its credit hours, summing across courses, and dividing by total credit hours attempted; the cumulative GPA includes only grades earned at Passaic County Community College.

Students must repeat any ELS, Developmental Studies, pre-requisite, Writing-Intensive, or option/core/career course in which they earn a "D" or "F"; repeating any other "D" or "F" course is optional. Both the original and repeated grades appear on the transcript, but the higher grade is used when computing the cumulative average.

An "I" (Incomplete) is temporary; if the missed work is not completed by the specified deadline (normally the end of the following semester), the grade converts to "F."

Academic Standing is reviewed twice a year, following the Fall and Spring semesters, beginning once a student has attempted 12 or more credits. Satisfactory Academic Standing requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.

• Academic Alert — cumulative GPA falls below 2.0.
• Academic Probation — cumulative GPA below 2.0 for two successive semesters; students on probation must earn at least a 2.0 semester GPA each semester to avoid suspension, cannot register without meeting an academic advisor, and cannot be full-time without administrative approval.
• Academic Suspension — a student on probation fails to earn a 2.0 semester GPA; prohibited from enrolling until reinstated by the Academic Appeals Committee, and must earn a 2.0 semester GPA in the first semester back.
• Academic Dismissal — a reinstated student's semester GPA again falls below 2.0; barred from enrolling for two regular semesters plus any intervening winter/summer term(s), and must again apply for reinstatement.

Graduation requires at least sixty (60) college-level credits, with a minimum of thirty (30) credits completed at Passaic County Community College, and at least one-half of the credits required in the student's major completed at the College. Students must apply for graduation and be certified eligible by the Registrar.

Three levels of academic honors are recognized at Commencement based on cumulative GPA: honors (3.50–3.69), high honors (3.70–3.89), and highest honors (3.90–4.0).

Transfer coursework is recorded with the grade "T" (Transfer credit) or "TU" (transfer credit with a grade of less than "C"); both carry no quality points and are not counted in the GPA.
